7/17 prepare winter garden
I'm scything and chopping the buckwheat into the soil with a hoe.

Prepare winter garden
7/21: I continue scything and working in the buckwheat as I harvest from the summer garden.

7/24 Moved tent frames to prepared soil
On July 24 I moved the low tent frames over 4 feet. I didn't need to move the ground anchors because I just changed the connection to the frame.

8/4 Scything buckwheat
I continue scything the buckwheat and mulching the stems to prepare for planting the crimson clover winter cover crop.

8/10 Scything buckwheat
8/10 Im finishing scything the buckwheat and weeding the area for winter cover crop.

8/31 Planting for winter
8/31: seeding carrots, spinach (near rows) and radish in the far tent.

9/10 First seedlings
9/10: While the crimson clover is growing well the radish, carrot and spinach seeds are just peeking up.

9/15 Plant leeks and onions
9/14: transplanted leeks and onions and prepared remainder of soil for transplanting garlic, cabbage and chard.

9/25 Low tents at home
9/25: I transplanted leeks, chard and kale in the upper raised bed at home. Then I covered the low tents.

9/30 Tents covered
By 9/30 I have covered the tents and transplanted the garlic and the remainder of the starts

10/18 Chard and lettuce growing
10/18: Lettuce and chard growing; sun shielded recording temp and humidity sensors monitoring conditions.

10/25 Radish and lettuce
10/25: first planting of radish harvested, second coming along well and third sprouting. Green onions and lettuce well established.

10/27 Winter plants growing
As I harvested the summer crops I built up the compost pile. 10/27 I mixed a load of barnyard manure into the pile and distributed to the bins. Both weeds and transplants are doing well.

11/3 Row cover in low tents
By 11/3 the temperatures were dropping below freezing so I experimented with row cover inside the low tents, monitoring temperatures to see what difference this made.
